More about Gener, Ween, and the Gene Ween band…

GWWeen began back in 1984 as a project between two high school buddies who shed their names into the mists of the 80’s and emerged as Gene and Dean Ween. The duo built a huge underground following with volume after volume of home recordings bootlegged around through friends and the internet. Their songs were eventually coddled into albums released on Elektra throughout the 90’s and early 00’s. Ween built a reputation for the unexpected releasing a country album, nautical album, and a beatles influenced pop album in quick succession. After touring in support of their 2007 release La Cucaracha, the guys took a much needed break. Gene came out of the minor hiatus with a new project, the Gene Ween band, and Dean started an online fishing show called Browine Troop Fishing Show.
