Welcome back to SMALLS WORLD

Greetings and thanks for reading. After a many year hiatus, Smalls World has returned to Ithaca. What began as a new music night at the old Haunt in the alley on Ithaca’s Green Street in the early nineties has grown into a new company that promotes concerts and produces very special events in many areas throughout the northeast, yet is still based comfortably here in the finger lakes.

Over the past year, Dan Smalls has worked to reinvent the State Theatre in Ithaca a its executive director.   It’s rebirth has been fueled with such diverse acts as Neko Case, Lyle Lovett, Okkervil River, Taj Mahal, John Hiatt, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, New Pornographers, and so many more.

In the coming months the State will present Andrew Bird, Billy Bragg, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Mirah, Crosby and Nash, Cassandra Wilson, and so many more to come. If you haven’t bought your tickets to these great shows yet… go do so over at www.stateofithaca.com. You can purchase right there and print your tickets at home! If you ‘d like to pay ZERO service charges, head on down to the State Box Office at 105 W. State Street in Ithaca. Face value tickets, no joke!

So mark us down and keep tabs on what’s coming here at the Smalls World blog. We’ll update you early and often and you’ll know what’s coming long before its announced to the public. I look forward to your feedback and reports on what we’ve done and what you’d like to see. Music is truly an interactive experience and I welcome your input, for its you the fans who we aim to please. Thanks, as always for your support and watch for the true web launch in the coming weeks…

Welcome back to smalls world!
